Just sold my 1997 Buick Riviera. The only vehicle remaining to be sold is the 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R. Even managed to almost break even :D

You’re in the final stretch and then you can pour all your automotive love on that NB2 or bottle it up and save it for another project. Keep it up!

NB2 is getting built as a C Stock autocross car. Allowed mods are shocks (but stock springs), one sway bar, any street tire, brake pads, an air filter, and a muffler/axleback. To that end I’ll get Koni Yellow adjustible shocks, some sort of grabby brake pad (I have some economy garbage now), Racing Beat front sway bar, and some sort of muffler (likely a racing beat because my car sounds like a goddamn Prius).
Stock power, decently upgraded handling, better noise, hell of a lot of fun and no impact on reliability.

Moving out of my dad’s house. Also Koni yellows, Racing beat sway bar, performance brake pads, good tires, and Racing Beat muffler for the NB.

I believe you mean E-Street. The only C-Street NB2 that’s eligible is the ‘03 Clubsport.
Also, you basically listed my ES build.
Roadster Sport muffler, Racing Beat ‘99-’00 sway bar with full brace kit, 15x6.5 Konig Heliums wrapped in 205/50/R15 Dunlop Z2 Star Specs, adjustable Koni Sport yellow shocks with Fat Cat Motorsport bump-stops and stock NB2 sport springs, and stock OEM Mazda brake pads.
FYI, you’re going to suffer a bit due to having a 6-speed depending on the course layout. You might be at a small advantage on short courses with speeds no higher than mid-50s but you’ll have a tougher time on faster setups that’ll force you to constantly row between 3rd and 2nd.
Also, get a Mazdaspeed racer account . You can log your results for your Mazda and if you post more than 3 results in a year, then you get a nice discount on OEM Mazda parts that bumbling idiots at dealerships can’t even find. Also, please remember you have the larger sport brakes, so do your research to see which aftermarket brake pads actually fit.

You definitely have your priorities straight! Definitely interested to know how the RB exhaust goes if you get it. That’s high on my list, along with the headers and midpipe from them.

Yep, E-street. Bit of a brain fart. How are the Koni Yellows? Do they ride like stock when on the softest setting, and do they help with turn-in and body roll when on the hardest? Just curious what to expect. Why did you opt for the OEM brake pads?
Yeah, the 6 speed kinda sucks but it’s a lot more fun when daily driving to have ALL THEM GEARS to play with.

Eh, not really. It’s a car. It runs, it drives, it’s comfortable, it’s reliable, it’s cheap. Some people care about very little other than that.

Konis are fine; they ride stock on soft (I usually do a 1/4-turn of firmness based off personal preference) but I highly do not recommend running full-hard as the car will just understeer and wheel-hop like mad. I did they on the ideal pavement surface too, pure un-abused asphalt used only for Michelin tire testing for wet surfaces. I typically run either 1/2-turn front: 1/2-turn rear or 3/4-turn front: 1/2-turn rear for autocrossing and mountain run shenanigans. Looking back, if I had a the funds for ES-competition, then I’d just get a set of Bilstein shocks and have them custom-valved to match the stock springs (and/or sneak in the Hard-S NB2 springs).
I opted for OEM pads since they don’t dust as bad as Hawk HPS pads but they seem to have as much braking grip. Also, I ordered them at a time in my life when I couldn’t afford to fuck up a brake pad change over a weekend, as the car had to be running the following Monday for work. Stock pads are fine for DD use, even autocrossing and mountain fun, at least for me they are.

I think you could find other options in that pricepoint that fit that description as well and isn’t painted green, but yeah I see your point.
